I SURRENDER WK 3-LISTENING

I SURRENDER

Week 3

02/19-02/25

HELLO LOVELIES!! It’s been yet another exciting and Looong week for me. How about you? This is week was very hard but I pushed through very nicely. This week during class was our week to listen. This week we were to sit back and relax and just LISTEN to what GOD has in store for our lives. I have to admit it was hard. We had to shut out that number one thing keeping us distracted from God and being close to him. My distraction was Social Media, so for a whole week I did not check any of my social media sites nor did I post anything. I have to say that was soooo hard-Because weather we realize it or not Social Media is the new age right now and it’s impossible not to be addicted? How many times a day do you check your Facebook? How many times do you check your Twitter per day? Even Instagram—Come on be honest. For me it’s every 5 minutes- Its bad I know.

Anyway, just like last week we had to meditate off 5 points and they were as follows.

Listening requires being still (Psalms 46:10)

Before moving you should seek God first by calling him and praying.

God speaks to us through his word, our thoughts, others, and circumstances. If you don’t hear from God, take a step, and if you don’t feel at peace, then step back.

Ask God for discernment (The Ability to Judge Well)

Remember that God is Sovereign let Him work.

Along with these 5 points we were asked some questions. Answer these in your own spare time or share with family or friends.

  1. Is there anything specific that you need to hear from God?
  2. What will you ask God to reveal?
  3. What time will you sit aside daily to meditate daily
  4. What’s your prayer?

We were also instructed to write down 3 blessings in our life and 3 things you would like to change about yourself?

My 3 Blessings Are…

  1. My 2 Daughters
  2. My Husband
  3. My Mother

3 Things I Would Like To Change about Myself

  1. To Open Up More(I tend to shut down on anything new)
  2. Be Confident
  3. Be More Of Myself

“I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. If you do not remain in me, you are like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned. If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.” John 15:5-7(NIV)

I do hope this renews your week and come back for Week 4 “Renewal”

MANY BLESSINGS,

TORI

Week 1-Surrender

Hello Lovelies! How was your weekend? Well Superbowl is over and now everything is back to normal. If you’ve been following- I recently began a grow group at my church called “I Surrender” a class centering on God and surrendering all aspects of your Life to him. Week 1 was a worksheet that consisted of 5 questions we each had to answer(Honestly)

Question 1

What are your goals for connecting to God(i.e. healing, focus, rest, etc)

Question 2

What is your mission? What will be your commitment?

To connect with God by……..

Question 3

What questions do you have?(For God and yourself)

Question 4

What do you need to release in order to have a closer relationship with God? And whats standing in your way?

Question 5

What will be your biggest challenge in connecting with God?

These questions are great with being honest with yourself and with God. Our biggest distraction is Ourselves and the inability to be honest with ourselves. I thought long and hard to answer these questions as honest as i could. Even tho my mind was telling me to back out-Don’t do it-But i did and will continue for the next 6 weeks!

Are You Ready For The Answers!

Question 1

My goals are to regain focus and guidance. Find out my purpose in life. Understand my financials and get out of this rut and to REST! I emphasize rest because being a mom of an active 7 year, recently diagnosis with ADHD and a 1 year old, My sleep has been very slim.

Question 2

My mission is to seek God whole-heartily and commit to my 6 week makeover

Question 3

Why does it seem like i keep digging myself further in this storm that i’m in?

Why can’t i get it right?

How can i change?

How can i over-come procrastination?

How can i grow closer to you?

Question 4

I need to release my mind, body, and soul in order to be closer to God. My lack of confidence and stepping out into the unknown stands in my way. Letting Go And Letting God-Is my biggest milestone.

Question 5

I have two small children and work a 9 to 5, so i get off late and by the time i get home after an hour of traffic-Its homework help(which is too late for her), bath, dinner and to bed. So time management is my biggest issue.

Week 2 of our class is this week and Sunday we were presented with a “Tool Box” with all of our lessons, devotionals, readings, weekly word, and daily prayers. I thought this idea was so NEAT! See below the box(I will decorate it later this week)

She also advised us to set up our theme cards somewhere we would remember and see daily as we start out our week. I placed mine on the wall near my office in my bedroom. See below!

Her Are The Contents Of The Tool Box Provided To Us!

I SURRENDER

Closing Remarks!

10 Virtues Of The Proverbs Woman

Hello Lovelies!

My journey to be closer to God is a journey not yet accomplished. I love sharing inspirational finds. Here is a great post from another blogger,avirtuouswoman.org. I hope this finds you good and enjoy.

Being a Proverbs 31 woman is not about being “perfect.” It’s about living life with purpose, diligence, forgiveness, and repentance.

Being a #Proverbs 31 woman is not about being “perfect.” It’s about living life with #purpose.

Often women believe that Proverbs 31 doesn’t really apply to our modern lives. Here at A Virtuous Woman, we believe that God’s Word stands the test of time. I wrote the 10 Virtues of the Proverbs 31 Woman as the mission statement for A Virtuous Woman, but soon realized that it was more than a mission statement. The 10 Virtues of the Proverbs 31 Woman demonstrates how, as Christian women today, we can all be Proverbs 31 Women.

The 10 Virtues of the Proverbs 31 Woman

1. Faith – A Virtuous Woman serves God with all of her heart, mind, and soul. She seeks His will for her life and follows His ways. (Proverbs 31: 26, Proverbs 31: 29 – 31, Matthew 22: 37, John 14: 15, Psalm 119: 15

2. Marriage – A Virtuous Woman respects her husband. She does him good all the days of her life. She is trustworthy and a help meet. (Proverbs 31: 11- 12, Proverbs 31: 23, Proverbs 31: 28, 1 Peter 3, Ephesians 5, Genesis 2: 18)

3.  Mothering – A Virtuous Woman teaches her children the ways of her Father in heaven. (Proverbs 31: 28, Proverbs 31: 26, Proverbs 22: 6, Deuteronomy 6, Luke 18: 16)

5. Service – A Virtuous Woman serves her husband, her family, her friends, and her neighbors with a gentle and loving spirit. She is charitable. (Proverbs 31: 12, Proverbs 31: 15, Proverbs 31: 20, 1 Corinthians 13: 13)

6. Finances – A Virtuous Woman seeks her husband’s approval before making purchases and spends money wisely. She is careful to purchase quality items which her family needs. (Proverbs 31: 14, Proverbs 31: 16, Proverbs 31: 18, 1 Timothy 6: 10, Ephesians 5: 23, Deuteronomy 14: 22, Numbers 18: 26)
